The Indian rupee rose to its highest level in nearly six months on Friday closing at 73.39 per dollar after gaining 0.6%. The partially convertible rupee rose nearly 2% for the week, its biggest weekly gain in about 20 months. Dollar inflows into the Indian stock market and gains in other Asian currencies have helped support the rupee's strength.
